KIDROCKERS AT THE CENTRAL PARK BANDSHELL AS PART OF PUMPKINFEST IS ON RAIN OR SHINE 2 - 3:10

KMJ - Kidrockers Music Jam a mini music marathon - SHOW IS ON RAIN OR SHINE

Our two day mini music marathon kicks off at The Central Park Bandshell at 2PM as part of the NYC Pumpkin Festival.  Army Navy, Pretty Good Dance Moves, LEVY and Found in town for the CMJ music festival share their songs with the young and older during this Kidrockers show.  The 2009 Pumpkin Festival is an annual event to celebrate the fall harvest season that will take place on Saturday, October 24th in Central Park with an expected attendance of 20,000 people.  The festival includes a Scarecrow design competition, Pumpkin Patch, and non-stop entertainment at the Bandshell.

Army Navy

released their debut album in late 2008, which Pitchfork declared a "bubbly, effervescent valentine." The band is in town for the CMJ Music Festival in support of its single "Saints" on legendary Brit-pop label Fandango Records.  “Irrefutably charming and undeniably infectious.” Filter Magazine.  “Pure alchemy…Army Navy is a BLAST” Pitchfork, 7.8. “Saints is a splashy jangle of distorted guitars and winsomely defiant vocals- like Teenage Fanclub's Bandwagonesque all jacked up on Mountain Dew.” Spin Magazine

Pretty Good Dance Moves

is the Chicago/Brooklyn duo of Aaron Allietta and Jimmy Giannopoulos.  The band is set to release a self-titled full-length this year.  “’Leave Me Alone’ is its first single and wrangles guest vocals from Swedish pop vet Björn of Peter Bjorn & John and Chicago newcomer Angelina Lucero on a triumphant little electro-pop track that tickles hearts and synths and hearts like Passion Pit, trades and harmonizes vocals like Ra Ra Riot or those guys behind ‘Young Folks.’” Stereogum.com http://www.myspace.com/prettygooddancemoves

LEVY is Promising Young Talent

NME praised LEVY’s previous album “Glorious” (One Little Indian): "The euphoric strumming and heartrating drums from these New Yorkers have us feeling glad to be alive and listening to their single" NME "Levy is the best band out of New York in years" Tim Wheeler, Ash.

Found

from Edinburgh, Scotland, make innovative, electronic indie rock music, and were dubbed the top “essential band” in Edinburgh by The Scotsman (http://living.scotsman.com/features/Capital-records-Edinburg%20h39s-music-scene.5021641.jp).  "This is modern psychedelia that owes little to the music of the 60s and everything to the present and future . . . This Mess is full of the kind of cut and paste, lo-fi treats you would associate with the likes of Super Furry Animals and FOUND have made an album which reflects both the bleak winters of Scotland and the uplifting warmth in the hearts of the people."
