Real Estate

REAL ESTATE makes dreamy, pop music that brings you back to summers (and winters) spent in Northeast/Mid-Atlantic towns.  Since appearing on Kidrockers in November 2009 (with Neon Indian), the Ridgewood, New Jersey foursome has emerged as one of the premiere bands in indie rock. Their self-titled debut on the Woodsist label was on numerous "best of 2009" lists (Pitchfork, Pop Matters, Tiny Mix Tapes) and their recent tour with labelmates Woods sold out the Music Hall of Williamsburg.  "[H]owever the hype machine happens to play this one out, Real Estate have . . . released one of the most refreshing, satisfying and richly rewarding albums of 2009."  Pop Matters.  "The jams here suggest real staying power. This is the sort of record that improves with age. It will sound even better next summer, the summer after that, and five years from now, when no one remembers or cares what label the group was signed to, but only the pitch-perfect pop they put down on tape." Tiny Mix Tapes.

Apollo Sunshine

APOLLO SUNSHINE is a three-piece band from Massachusetts that deftly meshes psychedelic rock, indie and noise-folk.  The New York Times, describing their sound, said: "bouncy 60's-style melodies crack wide open, breaking into outbursts of pummeling and feedback before jumping back into the tune. It's all neatly and cleverly plotted, but with a looming chaos that's anything but nostalgic."  The band's most recent album, Shall Upon Noise (World's Fair), recieved an 8 in Pitchfork, which described the album as "exuberant music that celebrates its sudden shifts in direction. Shall Noise Upon is a great record, and an impossible one to digest in just one sitting. That's hardly a problem, though, because coming back to it is so rewarding."

Snow Beverages and Save the Snowflakes

SNOW BEVERAGES is on a Crusade for Better Soda bringing all the fun, exuberance and delicious indulgence of soda using only natural ingredients and vitamins.  Snow Natural Soda + Vitamins is the NATURALLY REFRESHILICOUS soda that comes in the flavors that you know and love using real flavors, natural cane sugar and a pinch of vitamins.   In 12oz slim cans, Snow Natural Soda + Vitamins is available in three flavors including Pure Cola, Lemon Lime and Cranberry PomRaz.
In addition to sodas, Snow Beverages is also passionate about the health of the earth. As members of 1% For The Planet, they are part of an alliance of companies that donates one percent of sales to non-profits who fight global warming.  This year the company introduced “Save the Snowflakes,” an environmental educational program for children K-5th grades to teach them about global warming and how to participate in preventing it.

was inspired by Gandhi’s words, "Be the change you wish to see in the world."  The planet can be saved through the power of the individual and the important contributions that we all make (young and old alike) in our small and personal ways.  In fall 2009, Snow Beverages launched the Save the Snowflakes program to educate elementary school-aged children on global warming.  After reading the Save the Snowflakes educational handbook, children were invited to a draw a snowflake and to explain, as an individual, how he/she could take their new knowledge and become a “Protector Of the Planet.”  A 4th grade student from New York City, was the 2010 Save the Snowflakes winner - POP #292.  A one-thousand dollar donation is being made inthe winner's name to the NRDC and her class will receive $250 from Snow Beverages to fund a “green party” celebrating Earth Day.  The Save the Snowflakes Program will culminate at the EARTHROCKERS concert with the winning child's submission being read on stage during the show.

Started in 2002 by Yvon Chouinard, founder  and owner of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, owner of Blue Ribbon Flies, 1% for  the Planet is a growing global movement of over 1,200 member companies in 38  countries that donate 1% of their sales to environmental organizations  worldwide. Each day, more than one new business joins the 1% for the Planet movement. As a network, the 1% community has become a global frontrunner in funding the work of environmental groups around the world.
