PRETTY GOOD DANCE MOVES is the creation of the Chicago duo Aaron Allietta and Jimmy Giannopoulos. The band celebrates the release of its self-titled full-length with a CD Release show at Schuba's on Friday Night; and keeps the party going with an appearance the following afternoon at Kidrockers. “’Leave Me Alone’ is its first single and wrangles guest vocals from Swedish pop vet Björn of Peter Bjorn & John and Chicago newcomer Angelina Lucero on a triumphant little electro-pop track that tickles hearts like Passion Pit, trades and harmonizes vocals like Ra Ra Riot or those guys behind ‘Young Folks.’” Stereogum.com http://www.myspace.com/prettygooddancemoves
THE BON MOTS have been a mainstay on the local scene since the 2003 release of Le Main Drag -- a record that WXRT called one of the top 5 local band albums of the year. The band is led by tag-teaming singer songwriters Eric Chial and Mike Coy, who trade off lead vocals on their respective songs. "One of the most promising . . .bands out there. Think Spoon with a shot of simmered down Hot Hot Heat and a nod to the Yardbirds to boot. [Grade: A-] " SPIN. "The Bon Mots just may be Chicago's best-kept secret." All Music Guide. "Appealingly jangly psychedelic/power-pop quartet that draws on the familiar influences of the Byrds and the Zombies but rises to the top of this always-overcrowded genre.” Chicago Sun Times. http://www.myspace.com/thebonmots
